Panasonic has been conducting this Battery Recall since May 2017. To ensure our customer's safety and prevent fire hazards, beginning April 13th, 2021, the Pansonic Toughbook G1 will no longer charge. We highly recommend contacting Panasonic to exchange the battery before we turn on the stop charging function. |
As result of Panasonic's onging commitment to improving its products and services, Pansonic identified a potential issue involving the Pansonic Toughbook G1 tablet models utilizing the battery packs specific below.

Procedure to update the battery capacity of replacement battery
Overview:
This document is to explain how to update the battery capacity of FZ G1’s battery from 80% to 100% if required.
The recall replacement battery, has battery capacity set to 80% charge by default. (capacity is set to 80% to make it safe for any kind of ignition incident). If users need it to be updated to 100% charge capacity for better battery performance (battery life) in addition to safety against ignition, the tool explained below can be used.
Procedure:
- Copy the zip file ‘ecup + 3exe.zip’ to local folder. Unzip it.
- Run the batch file ‘ecup.bat’.
- PC will reboot after update is done.
